The HOPE Lab generates rigorous evidence to understand what shapes healthcare delivery and outcomes and to identify interventions, policies, and models of care that improve outcomes, with a focus on safety-net populations.
We believe healthcare doesn't lack innovation, it lacks clarity and rigorous evaluation of what truly works in practice. Our research is inspired by the questions we encounter every day as practicing hospital medicine physicians caring for patients in the safety net.
We are research faculty members of the UCSF Division of Hospital Medicine based at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFG), San Francisco's public safety-net hospital.
